A fun wine experience...Sometimes, you have one of those experiences where you think, "What a wonderful surprise!". Well, I had one of those last weekend at Upper Fourth in Santa Rosa. We went in for a glass of wine before dinner. I received my wine but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. Anyway, we were there chatting with other people at the bar, and decided to order a second glass. Rather than looking through the menu again to make an alternate choice, I just re-ordered the same thing. The second glass was outstanding! I had ordered the only rosé they had on the menu. It turned out, by my second glass, they had started pouring their new selection which just happens to be one of my favorites; Unti Rosé.A simple kindness that makes dining memorable...We recently had dinner with a friend at Rosso Pizzeria. We really love the place and always have wonderful food when there. When we arrived, we sat down and chatted while looking over the menu. I think most often we have the same waiter. As I started to order wine, he said "El Seque Alicante! Glass or bottle?" Wow! He remembered what I like to drink. Then he came back to answer questions and take our order. I asked if they had a pizza without cheese and he recommended the margherita with no cheese. I remember thinking I wouldn't feel satisfied with such a simple concoction, but we were really there to visit over a meal, so it seemed unimportant. Again wow! I am still thinking about and even tasting the delicious pizza that was brought to my table hot and intensely flavored. When a restaurant offers such personal service and still manages to produce such high quality food as well as a memorable experience, they deserve the highest praise. Thank you Rosso! We love you.
